The Accounting Clerk Performs a full range of clerical, Accounts Payable, and administrative duties to support the supervisor(s), requiring knowledge of office routine and procedures related to the work of the supervisor(s), and an understanding of the content of the supervisor’s job and method of operation. Involves daily contact with supervisor’s peers and subordinates.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assists the Accounts Payable Clerk with data entry, check processing and filing.
  • Assists Accounting Department with the collecting and copying of invoices for various grant billing.
  • Maintains and updates system of files, including all information needed for a billing audit, as required by funding sources.
  • Disburses completed reports and forms to designated staff as required.
  • Ensure VOATX purchase card required documentation is submitted timely to meet compliance to policy. Work to resolve discrepancies regularly.
  • Advises supervisor of any issues to ensure orderly and efficient administrative operations.
  • Assist the Accountant Department with Special Projects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required plus desire to be in Accounting or Finance field.
  • Skill and ability in the use of a personal computer and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) with strong Excel skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with the customer who may be defined as an employee, agency, volunteer or client.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, and work efficiently in a stressful environment.
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethical standards.

  • Must have valid Texas Driver License (Must be received within 30 days of employment) and ability to be meet company insurance requirements (with satisfactory MVR record); valid Vehicle Liability if driving personal vehicle.
