RESIDENTIAL RE-ENTRY MONITOR
Fort Worth, TX

The Residential Re-Entry Monitor position is available in the Community Re-Entry program of VOATX that provides a network of support to recently incarcerated individuals.  VOATX seeks to break the cycle of incarceration by helping individuals build life skills that will support them through the process of re-entering the community.  This position is responsible for monitoring the functional operation of the residential program and facility.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Maintaining written records of events that occur during the shift.
  • Performs partial intake on new clients
  • Observes client behavior and reports to the Lead RRM or supervisor in a timely manner any situations that are irregular or exceptional.
  • Makes periodic tours of the facility and the grounds to ensure high level of security by observation and corrective action, if necessary.
  • Assists clients with short-term coping and problem solving.
  • Controls contraband in facility through general observation, facility searches, and client searches.
  • Ensures facility cleanliness by assigning and monitoring client work, morning duty, and extra duty assignments.
  • Obtains urine specimens and breath samples to monitor client substance usage.
  • Assists clients in the utilization of public transportation and transports clients in agency vehicles to and from scheduled activities as assigned. 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a residential setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Inspires respect and trust, and treats people with respect.
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Upholds organizational values.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
  • Ability to recognize problems and take corrective actions as determined by agency and program policies and procedures
  • Must have valid Texas Driver License (Must be received within 30 days of employment) and ability to be meet company insurance requirements (with satisfactory MVR record); valid Vehicle Liability if driving personal vehicle.
