Contracts & Grants Administrator
Houston, Texas

Job Summary:
The Contracts & Grants Administrator researches and identifies government and philanthropic grants and opportunities and evaluates appropriateness for organization. The Administrator assists in developing grant proposals and assists in managing the grant development process to develop funds that will sustain and expand the program and administrative needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops outreach and cultivation strategy for government agencies, officials and representatives that make policy and funding decisions that impact VOATX services and increase visibility, impact and financial resources for VOATX.
  • Develops outreach and cultivation strategy for philanthropic organizations that increase visibility, impact and financial resources for VOATX.
    The Administrator will enhance and expand relationships with existing grant makers.
  • Assists program directors in identifying potential grants, other funding opportunities and preparing applications and proposals.

  • Conducts internal and external research on organization’s programs to build compelling case for support.
  • Organizes, implements and supervises grant writing activities that include government and solicitation applications and proposals for a total budget goal.
  • Researches and identifies potential contributors to fund special project and ongoing operations through examination of giving history and interest and other information as available.
  • Manage grant compliant process to ensure that all funding requirements are met and reports are being submitted to funders.
  • Stays current in fundraising trends through peer groups and professional development.
  • Represents VOATX to government agencies, funders, prospects, and the community at large to enhance public relations.
  • Coordinates communications with foundations and government agencies and representatives to build a positive image and understanding of VOATX services.
  • Institutes/maintains appropriate record keeping for identification of funding prospects.
  • Maintain and coordinate annual grants and RFP calendar.
  • Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, nonprofit management, psychology or business field plus five years related experience in grant writing.
