Mid Tule Village, Tulia, TX

The Community Administrator position is available in the Housing program of VOATX that offers affordable housing to seniors, families in poverty and people with disabilities. This position
is responsible for the daily operations of the entire property and maintaining positive relationships with the residents.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates all staff.
  • Manages the property office staff and/or functions, ensuring that all bookkeeping, marketing, and lease preparations are performed as required.
  • Supervises social service coordinator and function.
  • Assists in budget preparation for the property and manages budget during each fiscal year.
  • Markets the property in accordance with Fair Housing and the management agent's guidelines.
  • Submits reports as required by the management agent or mandated by the federal, state or local government.
  • Maintains office files for all business and financial records, as well as properly crediting the computer and properly depositing all monies received.
  • Inspects property daily to ensure building and grounds are properly maintained and take or suggest any actions needed for repair.
  • Responds to all resident requests and complaints.


  • High School diploma or equivalent plus one year property management experience.  May be required to live on site.
  • Professional certification preferred (CMH, ARM, CAM, RAM).
  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of regulations, acts, guidelines, etc., pertaining to conventional and affordable properties. 
  • Flexibility of scheduling work hours to meet the needs of the program.
  • Knowledge and skill with basic computer functions and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Upholds organizational values.
  • Must have valid Texas Driver License (Must be received within 30 days of employment) and ability to be meet company insurance requirements (with satisfactory MVR record); valid Vehicle Liability if driving personal vehicle.
