*This position will be based in Conroe but will include weekly travel to Houston.
MUST be a Licensed Counselor
, LCDC or above and COPSD certified.
The Clinical Coordinator/Out Patient Treatment Services is responsible for the implementation and supervision of the client services in the substance abuse residential treatment program to achieve the goals of the organization.  Functional authority with respect to the clinical supervision of Counselor Interns, Intern Students and Volunteers.  Maintains a caseload of clients.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages effective client services in compliance with VOA-TX program requirements and funding provisions.
  • Trains new counseling staff on treatment program and policy (i.e. intake, orientation, treatment plan documentation of services provided).
  • Provides clinical guidance to counseling staff.
  • Reports client services weekly.
  • Conducts groups and individual counseling as described by the program.
  • Conducts and/or attends staffing to assess client progress.
  • Develops referral linkages with community resources.
  • Participates in random substance use surveillance and the collection of specimens.
  • Attends substance abuse team and VOA-TX meetings and training.
  • Completes client psychosocial assessment and develops and/or revises individual client treatment plans.
  • Conducts weekly client progress assessment.
  • Prepares periodic reports on client status and activities as required by funding agencies.
  • Monitors and notifies management of potential psychological crises with individual clients that may affect the operation of the program or the facility.
  • Maintains treatment and other therapeutic records according to regulatory and contract standards.
  • Conducts substance abuse education as described by program.
  • Schedules and conducts job readiness training.
  • Develops job contracts and assists clients in seeking and obtaining employment.
  • Conducts personal and social adjustment training as described by program.
  • Verifies and submits counselor intern hours to DSHS.
  • Coordinates implementation of family groups.
  • Alternates weekend after hours "on call" rotation coverage.
Financial Management
  • Ensures management of the program’s resources within budget.
  • Reviews and approves expenditures within budgetary guidelines.
  • Within the scope of responsibility, adheres to budget guidelines, including expenditures, billing for services, P-Card documentation, etc.
Staff Management
  • Supervises, supports, motivates, and empowers the members of his/her team.
  • Ensures that all departmental human resources responsibilities are met:   interviewing, hiring, firing, staff training, assigning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining staff, conducting evaluations and performance management, addressing complaints and resolving problems, career development, succession planning, equal employment opportunity, and health and safety issues for all staff operating each of the distinct programs.
  • Promotes an organizational culture that fosters passion for the mission, cooperation, open and frequent communication, teamwork, and a common organizational vision.
  • Builds cross functionality among service team members and other departments.
Supervision Responsibilities:
Manages one or more subordinates.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems up to and including termination.

Other  Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Social Services preferred; MUST be a Licensed  Counselor, LCDC or above and COPSD certified.
  • Three years experience in substance abuse treatment desirable.
  • Valid Texas Drivers License (must be received within 30 days of employment) and ability to be insured; valid Vehicle Liability if driving personal vehicle.
